Verified DJI Matrice 4T Capability

Thermal Inspection & Advanced Aerial Imaging

Tri-Cities Aerial Solutions uses the DJI Matrice 4T to capture visible and thermal imagery for roof, building, infrastructure, utility, facility, and inspection-support applications.

Comparing visible and thermal views can reveal temperature patterns and areas that warrant closer investigation while reducing unnecessary access to difficult or hazardous locations.

Thermal anomalies are indicators for further evaluation, not by themselves a diagnosis of a defect. Final diagnosis and repair decisions belong to the relevant qualified trade or professional.

What a Thermal Inspection Flight Gives You

A Matrice 4T inspection flight documents visible conditions and thermal patterns across a building, roof, facility, or infrastructure asset. Comparing those views helps a qualified trade or professional identify where closer evaluation may be warranted.

Every flight also captures high-resolution visible imagery. The 48 MP wide camera covers the whole asset, and the 168 mm-equivalent telephoto camera records detail on elevated or hard-to-reach components without a lift, a ladder, or a climb. Spot and area temperature measurement, laser rangefinding, and NIR low-light support are available where the work calls for them.

You receive an organized image set — thermal and visible together — that your facility team, roofer, electrician, or contractor can use to prioritize follow-up.

Applications

Where Thermal & Stand-Off Inspection Fits

Practical commercial uses for thermal screening and telephoto inspection across property, energy, and infrastructure work.

Roof & Building Thermal Documentation

Visible and thermal documentation of temperature patterns that may warrant closer evaluation by the relevant qualified professional.

Electrical/Mechanical Heat-Signature Documentation

Heat-signature documentation of accessible equipment and components for maintenance planning and qualified follow-up.

Solar Array Thermal Screening

Array-level thermal observation across panels and strings, captured quickly from the air.

Infrastructure & Facility Inspection Support

Thermal and visible observation of infrastructure, utility, and facility assets from a safe stand-off distance.

Telephoto Stand-Off Inspection

Detailed visible imagery of towers, structures, and hard-to-reach assets without close approach or climbing.

Low-Light & Night Inspection Support

NIR-assisted operations where conditions, airspace, and authorizations allow low-light documentation.

Visible + Thermal Comparison

Paired views help qualified professionals compare visual conditions with temperature patterns and prioritize further evaluation.

Pricing for Thermal & Inspection Work

Thermal and inspection projects are quoted individually. Scope, asset count, site access, airspace, schedule, and requested deliverables all affect the quote — contact us with the details and we will price it.

Equipment

The Aircraft and Processing Behind the Work

Two aircraft on one enterprise platform: the Matrice 4E for mapping and photogrammetry, the Matrice 4T for thermal and detailed inspection, supported by RTK positioning and in-house data processing.

Mapping & Photogrammetry

DJI Matrice 4E

Our primary mapping aircraft. It flies the photogrammetry missions behind every orthomosaic, point cloud, elevation model, and 3D reconstruction we deliver.

  • Wide-area mapping and progress documentation
  • Feeds orthomosaic, point-cloud, elevation, and 3D outputs
  • Repeatable flight plans for flight-to-flight comparison

Thermal Inspection & Advanced Imaging

DJI Matrice 4T

Our inspection aircraft captures visible and thermal imagery for roof, building, infrastructure, utility, facility, and inspection-support applications, with telephoto stand-off detail and laser rangefinding.

  • 48 MP wide, medium tele, and telephoto visible cameras
  • Thermal imager at 640×512 native, with super-resolution output up to 1280×1024
  • Spot and area temperature measurement
  • 168 mm-equivalent tele camera for stand-off visual inspection
  • Laser rangefinder up to 1,800 m under DJI's specified conditions
  • NIR auxiliary light for low-light operations

RTK Positioning Support

D-RTK 3

Deployed on site before mapping flights to provide consistent RTK positioning — the step that turns aerial photos into measurable, georeferenced data.

  • On-site base station setup on mapping missions
  • Consistent positioning between repeat flights
  • Supports the survey and engineering teams we work with

Data Processing & Delivery

In-House Processing Workstation

High-performance in-house processing workstations allow TCAS to process large photogrammetry datasets efficiently and deliver client-ready mapping, point-cloud, elevation, and 3D outputs without outsourcing routine processing.

  • Built for fast turnaround on large datasets
  • Optimized for demanding mapping workloads
  • Client-ready exports without outsourcing routine processing
