TCAS Training — Course 01 · Mapping
Complete Orthomosaic Mapping Job
The full job, end to end: plan the route in FlightHub 2, fly it, ingest the complete DJI mission folder, reconstruct in DJI Terra, QA the result, and hand a client a finished orthomosaic.
Included in the Professional 2D Mapping System — $499 ($744 individually), and in the Complete Mastery System ($799 introductory).
Prelaunch: online checkout is not open yet. The complete 15-course Rev. 3 curriculum is written and finalized — join the launch list and we will email enrollment details, pricing confirmation, and availability the moment it opens.

What You Will Produce
A high-quality georeferenced GeoTIFF orthomosaic as the technical master, plus a client/presentation derivative and a documented project folder ready to hand over.
Who This Is For
- Part 107 pilots who can fly but have never delivered a mapping product
- Operators who have produced a map that 'looked fine' but could not defend it
- Anyone who wants one repeatable job template instead of trial and error
Prerequisites & Required Equipment
- Active FAA Part 107 certificate
- Reference platform: DJI Matrice 4E with FlightHub 2 (this is the workflow TCAS has verified)
- DJI Terra for Visible Light 2D reconstruction
- A computer able to process a few hundred images
What You Will Learn
- Scoping a mapping request into a flyable deliverable
- Planning a 2D mapping route in FlightHub 2 for the product the client needs
- Field capture discipline so the data set is complete on the first visit
- Ingesting the full DJI mission folder rather than cherry-picking images
- Running a Visible Light 2D reconstruction in DJI Terra
- Reviewing the output for stitching, edge, and coverage problems
- Exporting the GeoTIFF master and producing a client-facing derivative
Hands-On Assignment
Plan and fly one complete mapping mission over a site you have legal access to, process it start to finish in DJI Terra, and package the result as if you were invoicing for it.
Required Final Deliverable / Success Criteria
- Continuous orthomosaic with no gaps or unresolved stitching artifacts inside the project boundary
- Documented GSD and flight parameters
- High-quality GeoTIFF exported and preserved as the master
- Client/presentation derivative produced from that master
- Completed project folder matching the TCAS structure
Planned Course Materials
The complete 15-course Rev. 3 curriculum is written and finalized. Online delivery, downloads, and checkout are being set up now — course files are not downloadable today. Join the launch list and we will email you when enrollment opens.
- Structured workflow training manual (Rev. 3 curriculum — written and finalized, delivered at launch)
- Exact verified reference settings, clearly separated from job-dependent decisions
- Printable field or processing checklist (delivered at launch)
- Project-folder template with the TCAS naming convention (delivered at launch)
- QA pass/fail release criteria for the final deliverable
- Troubleshooting notes from real failures on completed TCAS workflows
- Planned at launch: practice dataset where licensing allows
- Client-facing deliverable summary template
Secure card checkout through Square is being connected. Until it is live, submit an enrollment request and TCAS will reserve your seat and send a payment link.
Paid courses can include a TCAS Certificate of Completion. It is a course-completion credential documenting the workflow you finished and the deliverable you produced — it is not an FAA certificate, surveying license, engineering credential, or any regulatory or professional certification.
An RTK FIX status alone is not proof of validated absolute accuracy. Projects that require survey-grade or control-based accuracy need appropriate ground control, independent validation, and licensed professionals where legally required. Students are taught to distinguish visualization and photogrammetry products from products that require validated survey control or licensed professional sign-off.
TCAS training is independent professional-development training and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the FAA, DJI, QGIS, Blender, Cesium, Apple, or other manufacturers, software providers, or professional licensing boards unless expressly stated. Completion does not grant an FAA certificate, surveying license, engineering credential, or other professional license.
